Sustainability

As a provider of food ingredients, our work depends on sourcing high-quality agricultural products. For this reason, we are committed to minimizing our environmental impact and contributing positively across our supply chain.

We recognize that the long-term success of our business is closely connected to the health of the planet. Responsible growth means considering not only our business partners, but also the environments and communities in which they operate.

In line with our mission at Royal Ingredients Group, we aim to create long-term, sustainable value by respecting human and environmental rights and by reducing negative environmental impact within our supply chain.

Our Sustainability Direction

We work to identify and address risks across our value chain in close collaboration with our suppliers. By doing so, we aim to strengthen the resilience of our supply chain and support our partners in building resilient and responsible operations of their own.

International Standards

At Royal Ingredients Group, we are committed to conducting business in accordance with the International Bill of Human Rights, which includes the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). We also take into account the United Nations Framework and Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, as well as the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

Our Sustainability Approach

Our sustainability approach focuses on three key areas: our people, our partners, and our planet. This approach is aligned with our company values—Integrity, Partnerships, and Responsibility—and we focus our commitment on UN Sustainable Development Goals 3, 5, 8, 12, 13, and 17.

Across each of these focus areas, we prioritize initiatives that enable meaningful and measurable positive impact, both within our organization and throughout our value chain.

Continuous Improvement

At Royal Ingredients Group, we focus on ongoing improvement in our sustainability practices. Through regular assessments, practical actions, and open communication with stakeholders, we work to make steady progress and reduce negative impacts across our supply chain.

EcoVadis: Recognised for progress in responsible business

EcoVadis is a leading global provider of business sustainability ratings, assessing more than 130,000 companies in over 180 countries. Its evaluations focus on four key areas: Environment, Labour & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.

In March 2025, Royal Ingredients was awarded the Bronze medal by EcoVadis. This independent recognition places us among the top 35 percent of companies assessed worldwide and highlights the steps we are taking to act responsibly across our global operations.

This milestone reflects our ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible sourcing. While we see this as an important achievement, we also see it as a starting point. We remain focused on continuous improvement across all aspects of our business.

Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit

SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) is recognized as one of the most widely used social audit frameworks globally. Sedex, as a membership organization, offers a leading online platform that enables businesses to manage and enhance working conditions across their global supply chains. Royal Ingredients has been a proud B member of Sedex since 2021. In alignment with our commitment to ethical practices, we have completed Sedex’s Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ). If you wish to link with Royal Ingredients on Sedex, please reach out to our sustainability team.
